On Tuesday afternoon, Thomas Godfrey, left, and Victor Solis from Heard Brothers Electric worked on an area to install the outdoor lighting for the new elementary school being built on Airport Road near Ga. Highway 142 in north Newton County.
Ricks Contractors Inc. and its subcontractors have been busy building the Newton County School System's 15th elementary school since they broke ground on the project in mid-June. The $13 million project is about 23 percent complete.
