Tony Tant splits wood Friday for sale on Elm Street in Covington. Tant and Mark Shirah offer the wood that comes from Newton County Tree Services and is 98 percent oak. This is their fifth-year in business. Tant said people come and get wood from them for all different reasons including heating, camping and backyard fire pits. A few barbecue restaurants also come by and use the wood.
