Newton Citizen
This girl is deadly serious about finding a new home. She's been uprooted by her family moving to a new location and she's lonesome without them, but would quickly learn to be a part of a new family.
Known as "Li'l Bit," this Dachshund is 4-years-old, crate trained and house trained. She has a sweet disposition and can be rescued and adopted at Newton County Animal Shelter, located at 210 Lower River Road in Covington.
The shelter usually has between 20 to 30 dogs and an equal number of cats eligible for adoption. The adoption fee for a dog or puppy is $25 and $10 for a cat or kitten. Spaying/neutering is mandatory for all animals. The shelter is open from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays.
The phone number is 770-786-9514. Anyone who has lost a pet is urged to go to the center and bring a photo of the missing animal.
