Motorcylist killed on Stone Road

COVINGTON -- A motorcyclist died Monday afternoon after striking a pickup that was turning into the Stone Road recycling center, according to the Georgia State Patrol.Terrance Michael Collins, 39, of Oxford was fatally injured.The crash occurred around 4:30 p.m. when a 2005 Dodge Ram pickup was traveling west on Stone Road and attempting to make a left turn into the recycling center, according to GSP spokesman Gordy Wright." ... the truck was hit in the rear quarter-panel by an eastbound Harley Davidson motorcycle," Wright said.The 68-year-old driver of the pickup was uninjured."The investigation is continuing and charges are pending the completion of the investigation," Wright said.

The Eastside High School Show Choir will present George Cohen's "Give My Regards To Broadway" this week featuring songs like "Give My Regards to Broadway," "You're A Grand Old Flag," "Mary's A Grand Old Name" and others. Businesses eligible for tax credits

COVINGTON — Some local businesses are eligible to receive tax credits for new hires made in 2010 and in the future. Businesses that qualify are located within sections of the city designated as Opportunity Zones by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs. The city of Covington held an informational session Monday morning for those who might be affected or who might want more information.
