Morrow -- Clayton State University's annual fall commencement ceremonies are moving this year, but not very far.
Traditionally held on the second Thursday evening in December since the first fall graduation in 1999, the 2010 ceremonies will be moving to the second Saturday in December.
This year they are scheduled for Dec. 11. Both the 9 a.m. and the noon ceremonies will be held in the University's Athletics & Fitness Center.
The first ceremony will be for the majority of the graduates from the College of Arts & Sciences, an estimated 285 individuals in all.
The second ceremony, scheduled to begin at noon, will be for the graduates from the School of Business, the College of Health, the College of Information and Mathematical Sciences, associate degree recipients from Arts & Sciences and those individuals receiving the Bachelor of Applied Science. A total of approximately 235 individuals are scheduled to participate in this ceremony.
The USG Chancellor, Erroll B. Davis Jr., will speak at the 9 a.m.
ceremony. Soon to retire after 35 years of dedicated service, Dr. Cathie Aust, Clayton State's senior faculty member, will speak at the noon ceremony.
A unit of the University System of Georgia, Clayton State University is a comprehensive metropolitan university located 15 miles southeast of downtown Atlanta.
