COVINGTON -- Grace Christian Academy wants area residents to enjoy some entertainment while supporting its school.

The school is holding a benefit concert and live auction beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Rockdale County Auditorium, which is located at 903 Main St. in Conyers.

"Our school is only run from private funding and tuition, so this fundraiser is a big event for our school," said Staci Lawrence, one of the event organizers.

The concert will feature music from the Southern Gospel band The Old Paths for about two hours.

During an intermission, a live auction will be held featuring items donated from local businesses. Items include season passes to Corn Dawgs corn maze, a guitar, Falcons and Braves memorabilia, spa gift certificates and other gift certificates.

Proceeds will benefit improvements at the 31-year-old school, which is located at 1705 Access Road in Covington and serves about 80 students.

Tickets cost $10 each and can be purchased at the door or by calling Lawrence at 404-547-4554. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
