Superior Court Judge Samuel Ozburn swears in newly appointed Assistant District Attorney Candice Branche of the Newton County District Attorney's Office on Monday morning.
Branche, who recently passed the bar and previously worked as an intern with the Rockdale County District Attorney's Office, was supported at the ceremony by her two daughters, 10-year-old Lexie and 8-year-old Lindsey.
Branche said she will be prosecuting cases in Juvenile Court. Becoming a prosecutor is a second career for her. She formerly owned her own day care center where she worked with underprivileged children and with a psychiatric hospital where she worked with drug and alcohol rehabilitation. The family lives in Covington.
