Newton Citizen
Hazel Stowe, left, and Amy Roby take tiny stitches on a quilt a group from the Newton County Senior Center is making to be used as a fundraiser. Roby said she quilts every day to keep her mind sharp. The group has only been working on this quilt for about two days. Also in the works are several other full-sized quilts as well as a number of crib quilts. Also, the group recently quilted 39 vests for the center's choir members. Quilters estimate it takes about 80 hours of work to finish a full-size quilt.
