CONYERS -- A man had not been released from jail for a full 24 hours before police had to arrest him again.
Simon Rodriguez, 44, of 1287 Knoll Court in Conyers, was arrested at Briar Creek apartments this Tuesday for armed robbery.
The robbery victim told authorities that Rodriguez drove up to the end of the victim's driveway on Wilson Court about 6:30 p.m and called him to the vehicle.
According to incident reports, Rodriguez claimed the victim owed him $200 and suddenly pulled a semi-automatic pistol on the victim. The victim said Rodriguez threatened to kill him if he did not give him the money. The victim then pulled out an undisclosed amount of money from his wallet and Rodriguez allegedly took the money and drove away.
Police interviewed witnesses and took a 9-mm bullet left at the crime scene as evidence.
Police worked with the Rockdale County Sheriff's Office to get a photo of Rodriguez and the victim positively identified him as his assailant. Officers learned Rodriguez was at Briar Creek Apartments, obtained an warrant and made the arrest.
Rodriguez was reportedly released from jail that morning.
