The Rev. Matt Murphy stopped by First Baptist Church of Covington on Thursday afternoon for a moment of prayer. In honor of the National Day of Prayer, the church sanctuary was open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. for the public to drop in and offer prayers. National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, when people are encouraged "to turn to God in prayer and meditation."
