Sharpening safety skills
Firefighters from the Covington Fire Department and Newton County Fire Services joined forces Friday for a dual training session. Kevin Whitley help secure "Rescue Andy," the department safety dummy, as he is brought up the side of the Newton County parking deck on Elm Street. The joint training helped familiarize personnel with multi-story rescues, raising and lowering patients and equipment and rigging techniques.
Troops return home
