Snow Dogs: Local man has competed in 35 dog sled races
As the Iditorad comes to a close over the next few days, there is one Social Circle man watching with keen interest. Bob Holder has competed in roughly 35 dog sled races, including the Iditorad, during his lifetime, never finishing first but sometimes earning a spot in the top 10.
Conyers to hold St. Patty's parade

Newton auxiliary needs items for rummage sale
Warmer temperatures, longer days and fresh air -- they are all reminders that most everybody could do with a little spring cleaning. The Newton Medical Center Auxiliary is hoping to capitalize on those urges to clear out and clean up by hosting a Golden Anniversary Rummage and Treasures Sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 27 at Calvary Baptist Church Family Life Center, 4228 Mill St., at the intersection of U.S. Highway 278 and directly across from the hospital.
