Members of the Service Guild of Covington recently assisted the Newton Arts Association with the hanging of the True Colours Youth Art Exhibit at the Newton County Library as part of their organization's Youth Art Month. Covington Mayor Kim Carter signed a proclamation designating March as Youth Art Month in Covington and students enrolled in the Newton County School System have the opportunity to participate in this annual visual art exhibit. Art teachers choose 10 pieces of artwork from each school to be displayed library, and pieces from this exhibit are then selected to be on permanent display at the Newton County Board of Education offices. Pictured with some of the artwork are, from left, Diane Loeble, Abigail Coggin of the Arts Association, Kathy Rhoades and Peggy Hawley. Other Service Guild members assisting but not pictured were Lynn Garrett and Lee Aldridge.
