Earlier this school year, the Fashion Club at Challenge Charter Academy, which also serves as the community outreach organization, began developing fundraisers late last fall in an effort to assist those within the community.
With the funds collected, the girls in the organization volunteered their time to create baskets, which included toiletries, puzzles and a picture frame, for the members of the Riverside Health Care Center, as well as bundles, which included blankets, T-Shirts, socks and a baby spoon, for newborn babies at Newton Medical Center.
Pictured, from left to right, are Jamira Parks, Shanteria Johnson, Alize Brightwell, J'Sharee Magwood and Asha Denard.
The club also has organized canned food drives for the recent Haiti earthquake relief.
