This mighty strange looking plant seems to be reaching for the sky and has just about made it. It belongs to Ann May of 6151 Floyd St. and has been growing in her yard for about 20 years. Known as a Century Plant, it blooms only once in its life and this is the year. When the blooms disappear, the plant will die. Originally a gift to May from her neighbor Lottie Clemmons, the Mexican plant requires full sun, not much water and no fertilizer.
