COVINGTON -- Mayfield Hardware Company has announced its hardware department at the store on the Square will be temporarily closed in order to reorganize the product mix to focus exclusively on hardware and to enhance the home environment instead of repair and maintenance.
According to a press release, Mayfield Ace Hardware in Newton Plaza will benefit from the infusion of a considerable amount of knowledge and expertise from the hardware employees of the downtown store. Mayfield's on the Square will be focused on gifts, toys, gourmet housewares and home care. Mayfield's in Newton Plaza will now be focused on repair, maintenance and solving any problems in or around the home or business.
The back entrance of the store on the Square is now closed and the front door entrance on Washington Street is the only access for a short time. The gift department and Max and Lily's will remain open throughout the entire transition.
Store hours on the Square are from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Store hours at the Newton Plaza location are from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
