Jack Wheeler, left, of Covington Elks Lodge No. 1806 has been named Elk of the Year by the Georgia Elks Association. He is congratulated by State Elks President Larry Capes, also of the Covington Lodge, at a recent convention in Jekyll Island. Wheeler was lauded for his readiness to work behind the scenes as well as in the limelight, and was especially praised for his accomplishments with the Elks' Drug Awareness program, Hoop Shoot and the presentation of numerous educational puppet shows.
