Thousands of residents from Newton County were among the crowd from all around northeast Georgia who flocked to a 21-acre sunflower field in Rutledge over the weekend. The annual Sunflower Festival featured arts and crafts booths, live bluegrass music and tractor and golf cart parades. The sunflowers are grown on a farm owned by the West-Holt family, who has invited the public to the festival for the past nine years.
