Election board rebukes Gresham

COVINGTON -- The State Election Board has issued a letter of reprimand to Horace Don Gresham for making false statements on a Declaration of Candidacy and Affidavit filed with the Newton County Republican Party in 2008.

OXFORD -- The Newton County Leadership Collaborative made its first municipal presentation of the Newton County 2050 Build Out Plan to the city of Oxford during its monthly work session Monday night.

COVINGTON -- A woman living on Briscoe Street notified the Covington Police Department that multiple shots had been fired outside her home Friday around 9 p.m. She also said she heard a "loud noise" inside her home, according to a CPD incident report.
