SOCIAL CIRCLE -- The City Council agreed Tuesday night to allocate $2,500 to One Walton, a countywide marketing campaign, with the option to consider donating more later in the year.
Stacy Jones, a representative with the Walton County Chamber of Commerce, presented to the City Council in November the proposed marketing campaign and asked for a contribution of $5,000.
One Walton will be a 26-week project headed by a paid consultant who will work with the communities to define who Walton County is, determine what individuals and businesses outside of Walton County think of the community, establish a logo and brand, and finally implement that consistent message.
In other action, the City Council reappointed City Clerk Susan Roper and City Attorney Joe Reitman to serve additional terms. Councilwoman Anne Peppers was named vice-mayor for 2010.
Hal Dally, Diane Hunt, Debbie Smith, Grady Lemonds, John Anchors and Louis Van Dyke were reappointed to the Downtown Development Authority to serve two-year terms.
Jimmy Phillips was reappointed to serve a three-year term on the Planning and Zoning Commission.
