COVINGTON The stepson of Newton County Commissioner J.C. Henderson was arrested and charged with aggravated stalking after he violated a court order to stay away from a residence in The Links subdivision, according to the Covington Police Department.
Quin Renard Henderson, 17, of 7134 Puckett St., was arrested on Jan. 12, the day after he was found at the residence by the homeowner.
According to a CPD incident report, the homeowner came home about 4:10 p.m. and found Henderson in his kitchen. The man's juvenile daughter admitted to letting Henderson into the house.
"The father of the 12-year-old victim had taken out a previous restraining order because he didn't want him around the house," CPD spokesman Lt. Wendell Wagstaff said.
When the father entered the residence, Henderson fled through the back door and into the yard, leaving behind a black stocking cap, the incident report stated.
The restraining order was signed by Newton County Magistrate Court Judge John Degonia in September, according to the incident report, and specified that Henderson was not to have any contact with the family.
