COVINGTON -- The American Cancer Society is inviting local business leaders of Newton County to attend an informational breakfast on Feb. 17.
At the breakfast, the American Cancer Society will discuss various workplace solutions and how local businesses can benefit by joining ACS in the fight against cancer.
The breakfast is from 8 to 8:45 a.m. at the Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home Reception Room, located at 1215 Access Road in Covington. Attendees are requested to RSVP to Victoria Patrick by Friday at victoria.patrick@cancer.org or by calling 706-549-4893.
"We care about local businesses needs and are committed to finding solutions that will benefit businesses by raising awareness of cancer in the workplace, providing opportunities for team building among staff, and enhancing companies' leadership in the community," said Patrick, senior community manager for the American Cancer Society.
The American Cancer Society is the nation's largest non-governmental investor in cancer research, contributing more than $3.4 billion. As a result, more than 11 million people in America who have had cancer and countless more who have avoided it will be celebrating birthdays this year.
