Tish Oliver visiting family here in Covington stopped by the salvation army bell ringer coming out of Kmart wednesday afternoon. She had said she was making the donation in honor of her father who passed away this week. Oliver is from VA. Bell ringer is Jesse Barton a freshman radiology student at GPC (she lives in covington). This is her first year being a bell ringer, she found out about at her church Eastridge Community Church.
Salvation Army bellringer Jesse Barton braved the cold this week in front of the Covington Kmart, reminding residents to give to the less fortunate during the Christmas season. Here, Tish Oliver of Virginia, who is in town visiting family, said she was making her donation in memory of her father who died this week. Barton, a freshman radiology student at Georgia Perimeter College, said this year was her first effort as a bellringer and she found out about the need through her church.
