COVINGTON -- Newton County READS held a recognition dinner on Monday, Dec. 6, at The Church of the Good Shepherd to recognize the accomplishments and achievements of its students in 2010.
Students were presented certificates for passing one or more areas on the GED. Students, volunteers and board members were also recognized for their hard work and dedication to Newton County READS.
Newton County READS is a nonprofit organization that offers GED preparation, literacy and English as a Second Language classes at five different sites in Newton County.
Anyone interested in learning more about programs offered by Newton County READS or finding about how to volunteer, should call 678-342-7943 for more information.
There will be a volunteer training session on Saturday, Jan. 8, at the Family Resource Center East. Please call NCR to sign up to attend the training session.
