COVINGTON -- Nonprofit organizations in Newton County can now apply for funding through the 2010 Newton Fund grant cycle. The Newton Fund, a local fund of The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, will provide grants up to $5,000 through a competitive process to qualified nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations as they meet the changing needs of the Newton County community.
The Newton Fund grant program for 2010 will give general operating support to sustain organizations as they pursue their missions. As part of the application process, applicants must complete a two-page Letter of Intent to Apply for Grant Funding and submit the letter by Sept. 1. After all letters are reviewed, select organizations will be invited to submit a final application.
Prospective applicants are invited to participate in an online orientation session on Aug. 18 to learn more about the grant process.
Nonprofits should visit www.cfgreateratlanta.org to access important application materials, including the Letter of Intent, and to register for the online orientation. For additional information or questions, contact Newtonfund@cfgreateratlanta.
The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta connects donors, nonprofits and community leaders to strengthen the region through philanthropy. In 2009 The Community Foundation awarded an estimated $138.4 million throughout 23 counties in the greater Atlanta region and beyond.
