CONYERS — Before the warm summer evening weather slips into a brisk autumn, residents can enjoy another free outdoor movie event this weekend hosted by the city of Conyers.
A free showing of "Diary of a Wimpy Kid," will be shown Saturday at the Grand Prix Plaza of the Georgia International Horse Park, located on Centennial Olympic Parkway off Ga. Highway 138.
Organizers encourage attendees to arrive at 7:30 p.m. to settle in and enjoy pre-screening activities before organizers roll the film at dark.
Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to see the move on a 40-foot screen.
Admission and parking are free. Pets are not allowed in the park.
Concessions will be available for purchase on the grounds.
GIHP hosted a showing of the "The Blind Side," in May and GIHP Director Jennifer Bexley said approximately 2,000 people packed the horse park for the event.
"While this outdoor movie event has taken place in Conyers for the last several years, this is the first time we've offered two free movies for the community to enjoy during the summer," Bexley said.
GIHP partnered with Atlanta radio station B 98.5 FM to bring the movie, as part of the "B At the Movies" outdoor movie series. Publix and Gas South sponsor "B at the Movies."
