Palmer Stone Elementary School's fifth-graders visited Oxford College for their annual College Day on Tuesday. Students toured the campus, had lunch in the campus dining hall and rotated through Spanish, chemistry, tennis and diversity classes. In the chemistry class, Connie Brickell's students, from left to right, Rachel Haines, Madison Jones and Cheyanne Adams, looked at metals and conducted experiments to determine if current pennies are made from pure copper, as they once were, and discovered they are not. Oxford chemistry lecturer Brenda Harmon then deemed the students Palmer Stone Junior Chemists.
