In recognition of April as Child Abuse Prevention Month, the Newton County Sheriff's Office and Frank's Restaurant partnered with Prevent Child Abuse Newton to provide meals for participants in the Nurturing Parenting Program. According to Newton County Sheriff Ezell Brown, Frank's Restaurant holds the contract with NCSO to provide meals to inmates; however, they wanted to do something outside of their contract to give back to their community. "The NCSO and Frank's Restaurant believe in PCAN's mission to help prevent child abuse and neglect in all its forms by serviing as a local clearinghouse for information and strategies to prevent abuse and to sponsor programs to support parents by enhancing their parenting skills," Brown said through a printed press release.
