DECATUR -- The Partnership for Community Action has announced the receipt of additional funds for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program.
The funds -- between $310 to $350 to assist with reducing heat bills -- is earmarked to serve households that have an income of 187 percent of poverty income guidelines. For instance, a family of four with an income of $41,266 or below would be eligible for assistance.
Applicants must also provide the following:
* A photo ID;
* Proof of income for all household members, 18 years of age and older for the last 30 days, 90 days is irregular income;
* Most recent home heating bill (for crisis applications must have disconnection/disconnected notice);
* Verification of Social Security cards for all household members, including children, or some other legal document with proof of social security number.
Households that have not previously applied for LIHEAP this program year (November to present) are eligible to apply.

Funding for this program which has to date served 18,000 households is through the Georgia Department of Human Services and HEAT Inc.
