DANIELSVILLE - Madison County quarterback Jarrod Owens ran for two touchdowns and passed for another as the Red Raiders (4-1) won their fourth straight game, beating Salem 21-16 on Friday night at Red Raider Stadium.
The Seminoles took a 2-0 lead in the second quarter with a safety, but the Red Raiders scored twice before halftime to build a 14-2 advantage. In the third quarter, Salem running back Tyler Askew put his team on the scoreboard with a 66-yard touchdown run. The Seminoles didn't score again until 16 seconds were left in the game. Quarterback JoJo Smith connected with Jarrett Brown on a 7-yard scoring toss. Salem (3-2) has a bye next Friday. The Seminoles return to action on Oct. 9 against Clarke Central at Seminole Stadium.More like this story
