The Atlanta Boy Choir is one of the oldest arts institutions in the city of Atlanta. Since the 1950s, nearly 3,000 choir members have developed their musical gifts, learned to perform as part of a cohesive unit and achieved recognition for performing to the highest standards of the art form.
Founding Director Fletcher Wolfe leads the Atlanta Boy Choir. Each year the choir attracts about 135 members, a diverse group of boys between the ages of 5 and 14 in five choir training levels from all around the metro area.
For more than 50 years, the Grammy Award-winning Atlanta Boy Choir has inspired young people and audiences. The choir has performed on the local, national, and international stage - from singing in front of Queen Elizabeth II and behind the Iron Curtain, to performances for four U.S. presidents and several Popes. The choir celebrated its 50th anniversary season in 2008.
Alumni of the Atlanta Boy include many notable leaders and celebrities, including current Broadway musical star Shuler Hensley, American Idol runner-up Justin Guarini, Atlanta Hawks owner Rutherford Seydel and civic leader Robert Ballentine.
