HARTWELL - The Lady Eagles volleyball team split their three-way match against Hart County and Jackson County on Monday.
Unfortunately for Eastside, its loss to Hart County (25-21, 25-19) was a region contest, while the win against Jackson County (25-13, 25-13) was not. Katie Johnston paced Eastside (5-12 overall, 0-1 Area 8-AAA) with eight aces and 12 kills. Antonia Mullins finished the matches with five aces, seven kills and two blocks. Naomi Wills provided the Lady Eagles with four aces, four digs and eight assists. Also helping the Lady Eagles were Haley Ugwuibe (three kills, two blocks) and Tiffany Lo (five assists). "After a two-and-a-half-hour bus ride, we played well - not excellent, but well," Eastside coach Angie Lewis said. 'We are still making too many basic mistakes. Once we reduce the errors in our games, we will see more wins. We have already reduced our service errors. Now, we just need to get more comfortable with each other on the court and compliment each others strengths."More like this story
