COVINGTON - The Newton County Sheriff's Office has announced a new "Most Wanted" feature on its Web site located at www.newtonsheriffga.org. It is asking that the public log on and help them catch fugitives from justice.

There are currently 11 men listed on the site, wanted for crimes ranging from murder to financial transaction card fraud. They are:

· Porfirio, Roman

29-year-old Hispanic male

Wanted for the murder of Carmen Guanchez on Aug. 23, 2008, at 15 Ashley Ct., Covington

· Basham, Joshua Lee

18-year-old white male with a tattoo on his right leg

He has an outstanding Superior Court bench warrant and is wanted for theft by taking, theft by receiving, entering auto, probation violation, possession of marijuana and seat belt violation.

· Chambers, Terrance Anthony

24-year-old black male with a scar on his left arm

He is wanted for probation violation and burglary.

· Dennis, Kim Oneal

35-year-old black male with tattoos on both arms, neck and back.

He is wanted for probation violation, possession of marijuana, obstruction of a law enforcement officer, driving with a suspended license, reckless driving, no insurance, giving false information to a law enforcement officer.

· Dyer, Freddie L.

23-year-old black male with a tattoo on his right forearm

He is wanted for probation violation, obstruction of a law enforcement officer, theft by taking, speeding, reckless driving and fleeing and attempting to elude.

· Grant, Liden F.

42-year-old black male with no scars or tattoos.

He has an outstanding Superior Court bench warrant and is wanted for three counts of sale of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

· Colatriano, Matthew

19-year-old black male with no scars or tattoos.

He is wanted for carrying weapons in a school safety zone.

· Horne, Curtis Neal

20-year-old black male with no distinguishing marks

He has an outstanding Superior Court bench warrant and is wanted for theft by receiving stolen property.

· Lowe, Johnathan

39-year-old black male with no distinguishing marks

He is wanted on charges of probation violation and financial transaction card fraud.

· McWilson, Whitt Lee

34-year-old black male with no scars or tattoos

He is wanted for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of Schedule III drugs, possession of marijuana, less than an ounce.

· Smith, Harold Joe

40-year-old black male with no scars or tattoos

He is wanted for probation violation, possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana.

Sheriff Ezell Brown issued a press release late last week in which he stated, "If anyone has any information on the whereabouts of these people, they are asked to contact the Newton County Sheriff's Office warrant division."

The division can be contacted Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. by calling 678-625-1411. On weekends or after business hours, they can be contacted through the non-emergency dispatcher at 770-784-2100.

Information can also be given on the department's anonymous tip line, also located on the Web site.

Brown said the list will be updated every 30 days to reflect those who are most urgently being sought by the NCSO warrant division.
