Fighting cancer with trash

Teri Harris Joiner, Jimmy Harris and Jackie Harris Hardy of Jimmy Harris Trucking Inc. have found a unique way to help in the fight against breast cancer. Their company has painted five open top Dumpsters pink, complete with a pink ribbon and the words "Breast Cancer Awareness." Ten percent of proceeds from rental fees are donated to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation, which funds breast cancer research, education and treatment. The Harris family wanted to bring awareness of the cause during October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, but the Dumpsters can be rented yearround. They are typically used for construction sites, clean-ups at businesses and residences, and garage and estate sales. For more information, call 770-786-3585.
