COVINGTON - A 51-year-old woman was robbed inside her own home Friday morning by two young men, according to the Covington Police Department.
The CPD was notified about 10 a.m. about a burglary in progress and when officers arrived at a West Street residence they were told by the victim that two men had just broken into her house and stole her Sony PlayStation. The woman told officers that she was laying on her bed when she heard a noise at her front door. "When she arose to see what was causing the noise, the two males came through the front door," a CPD incident report states. "As (the victim) yelled at them as to why they were in her house, she was struck by the juvenile offender which caused her to hit her back against the wall. The report states that both men then went into the victim's bedroom, disconnected the PlayStation system and walked out of the house through the back door. A neighbor saw the pair leaving the house and was able to identify the 16-year-old juvenile and based on the description given, officers also found the adult suspect, Brandon Flournoy. Flournoy, 18, of 4217 Carroll St. and the 16-year-old juvenile were both arrested and charged with robbery. According to the incident report, the Sony PlayStation was not found at the time of the arrests. Barbara Knowles can be reached at barbara.knowles@newtoncitizen.com.More like this story
