Sarah Ashley Emmons and Christopher Terry Chancey were married July 18 at the Botanical Garden of Georgia Day Chapel in Athens. Pastor Danny Callahan officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Author Scott Emmons and Deborah Poteat Emmons of Conyers. She is a graduate of the University of Georgia, where she earned a bachelor of fine arts degree in art and she is also certified in early childhood education. She is currently employed with Citron WorkSpaces as an account executive/designer.

The groom is the son of Robert Terry Chancey and Becky Callahan Chancey of Waycross. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia, where he earned a bachelor of fine arts degree in advertising and a minor in religion. He is pursuing a master of divinity degree from Denver Seminary. He is currently employed with New Denver Church as the children's pastor.

Lydia Emmons of Conyers, sister of the bride, served as the matron of honor. Summer Frederick of Stockbridge, Mandie Gray of Conyers, Amy Gray of Conyers, Macy Sirmans of Clarkesville, Ashley Bardash of Athens, Stephanie Underwood of Clarksville, Tenn., and Brooke Aiken of Baltimore, Md., all served as bridesmaids.

Terry Chancey of Waycross, father of the groom, served as the best man. Dawson Goddard of Waycross, Garret Lawrence of Athens, Bryan Bardash of Madison, Ben Cabenza of Charlotte, N.C., Ben Gibson of Augusta, Kennedy Mulinge of Nairobi, Kenya, Justin Wise of Tuskegee, Ala., and Evan Sussenbach of Augusta, all served as groomsmen.

After a honeymoon trip to Santorini, Greece, the couple resides in Denver.
