CONYERS - Homeowners for Better Government will host a citizen forum Thursday at 7 p.m., at the J.P. Carr Community Center on 981 Taylor St. to give the public an opportunity to hear from local officials and ask questions about the county's proposed 2010 budget.
Homeowners for Better Government is a citizen-run organization that started this spring to address issues in the county.
Organizer Sam Smiley said five county officials confirmed attendance as of Tuesday afternoon: Finance Director Roselyn Miller, Rockdale Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Rob Cordero, Tax Commissioner Dan Ray, and Commissioners JaNice Van Ness and Oz Nesbitt.
Invitations were also sent out to Commission Chairman Richard Oden, Chief Assessor Lamar Sims and Emergency Services director John McNeil.
