CONYERS - A 58-year-old Conyers woman was killed Friday after she pulled in front of a truck hauling horses along Ga. Highway 138 at Eastview Parkway, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
Sgt. Fred Moon with GSP Post 46 said Peggy McDuffie of 2546 Country Club Drive, attempted to turn left from Eastview Parkway about 4:20 p.m. Friday to head south on Ga. 138 when she pulled in front of a Ford F-150 pulling a trailer loaded with horses traveling in the northbound lane of travel.
The truck struck the Toyota Avalon driven by McDuffie in the driver's side door, Moon said.
"After impact, it pushed her over into the southbound lanes where she struck another vehicle, which was a Chevrolet Tahoe," he said.
McDuffie died soon after the wreck, Moon said.
The 26-year-old male driving the Tahoe was transported by ambulance to Rockdale Medical Center, where he was treated for injuries.
Moon said the horses remained secured in the trailer throughout the incident, and one suffered some lacerations to its face.
