Scholarships: Seniors offered $16M

COVINGTON - The Newton County School System has announced that this school year's graduating seniors have received more than $16 million in scholarship offers to date. Additionally, the students have accepted more than $5 million in scholarships.

The annual event is hosted by the Mule Camp Cowboys, the local action shooting club. Competitors shoot at steel targets and are judged for speed and accuracy. They dress in authentic western attire and use pre-1899 authentic or replica single-action revolvers, lever action rifles and shotguns from that period.
