Newton Citizen
The beauty of this peony has been captured as only Citizen photographer Sue Ann Kuhn-Smith can with her very special abilities. She has been with the Citizen since the Newton paper became a standalone daily in 2004, but Friday was the last day of Kuhn-Smith's employment. She resigned to pursue her photographic career and will be specializing in environmental portraiture and portraits of people with their pets. "It's been a great ride," she said. "I love working in the community I live in and all the people I've come in contact with have made it a great experience. Everyone has been very receptive to me and allowed me to do my job to the best of my ability." This peony was grown by Kuhn-Smith in her yard and has a special meaning for her as it brings back childhood memories of her mother's flowers in her native Wisconsin. "I wanted to share it with my friends," she said.
