GIHP holding movie night for families

CONYERS - Those looking for a family-friendly outing next weekend may just want to be at the movies.

The Georgia International Horse Park and Atlanta radio station B98.5-FM have teamed up to present an outdoor movie series, "B At the Movies," on May 16.

Families are invited to bring lawn chairs and blankets to the Glen at the Horse Park beginning at 7:30 p.m. The movie, "Hotel for Dogs," will be shown at dark on a 40-foot screen.

The movie is adapted from a children's book by the same name by Lois Duncan. "Hotel for Dogs" is a story about two mischievous orphans who attempt to hide dozens of stray dogs in an abandoned hotel after their new guardians tell them they are not allowed to keep their dog, Friday. The movie stars Emma Roberts, Jake T. Austin, Don Cheadle and Lisa Kudrow.

"This the fourth year we've brought this outdoor movie event to Conyers and each year it seems to grow in popularity," Jennifer Bexley, director of the Horse Park, said in a press release. "In these tough times, we think 'B At the Movies' is a great event where families can escape the worries of the economy and just enjoy themselves a little at no cost watching a movie under the stars.

Parking and admission to the movie is free and concessions will be available for purchase. No pets will be allowed.
