East Newton Elementary School's Teddy Bear Players will perform "Seussical Jr." at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Alcovy High School's auditorium. There will be a special matinee performance at 2 p.m. Saturday. The musical incorporates approximately 15 of Dr. Seuss' books and includes appearances by some of his most famous characters, including Horton the Elephant and Cat in the Hat. The show tells the story of Horton the Elephant who finds a speck of dust containing Whoville. The other animals in the jungle find Horton to be the "Biggest Blame Fool in the Jungle of Nool." But regardless of feeling "Alone in the Universe," Horton vows to protect the Whos after he befriends the Mayor's son, JoJo, who also is reprimanded for his grand imagination. "Don't anticipate a small children's play. You won't believe your eyes and ears," promises school principal Naomi Cobb.
