COVINGTON - State legislators will be on hand to discuss this year's legislative session and answer questions from the public at a Post-Legislative Breakfast hosted by the Covington-Newton County Chamber of Commerce.
The event will take place at 8 a.m. May 14 at DeKalb Technical College, located at 8100 Bob Williams Parkway. State Sen. John Douglas, R-Social Circle; State Rep. Doug Holt, R-Social Circle; and State Rep. John Lunsford, R-McDonough, have confirmed they will attend. State Rep. Toney Collins, D-Conyers, has not yet committed to attending. The legislators will go over the highlights of the session and ongoing state issues, Chamber President John Boothby said. "They will give us their version of what happened and what didn't happen and why ... it should be a good, lively presentation," he said. Following their presentations, the audience will have a chance to ask questions, he said. The breakfast is open to the public. Tickets are $5 per person. For more information or to purchase tickets, call the Chamber at 770-786-7510. Crystal Tatum can be reached at crystal.tatum@newtoncitizen.com.More like this story
