Alcovy High School FFA members Drew Parker, 11th grade, and Brittany Woodruff, 10th grade, tend to the geraniums and impatiens before this weekend's plant sale. Alcovy's Horticulture Department will hold its third annual plant sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the school. Plants include various colored geraniums, red and purple salvia, impatiens, begonias, Wandering Jew and hanging basket spider plants, among others. Baskets cost $10, trays cost $6 and 4-inch pots cost $1. Eastside High School also will hold a spring plant sale from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at the school. The public is invited to purchase plants that its agriculture class grew this year.More like this story
