CONYERS - Heritage's tennis teams showed their dominance once again on the court taking all five boys and girls matches on Tuesday.

On the boys side, the toughest and longest match was between Jonathan Stone and Shoman Kasbekar at No. 1 singles with Stone winning in three sets (3-6, 6-1, 6-3).

"That was the first set that Heritage's boys team has lost in the region," Rockdale coach Stephen Sansing said.

"The last set was tied 3-3, before Jonathan won the last three games to win the match. It was a fantastic match and also great experience for Shoman as he continues forward."

At No. 2 singles, Zach Landy beat Jason Lauritsen 6-1, 6-0 with Joey Roppo getting the win over Pathya Kunthy, 6-1, 6-2, at No 3 singles.

At No. 1 doubles, the Patriots' Frankie Merkel and Erik Lauritsen defeated Tommy Schimmel and Michael Taylor 6-0, 6-0.

Heritage completed the sweep with Cody Provence and Trey Calcinore besting Kevin Lin and Anthony Adams 6-0, 6-1.

The Heritage Patriots boys team have an overall record of 9-4 and are 5-0 in subregion play.

They are the No. 5 ranked team in Class AAAA.

On the girls side, Heritage's Taylor Maloney at No. 1 singles defeated Quilla Franklin 6-2, 6-1.

Stephanie Humphries bested Ana Grace Slifko 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 singles and at No. 3 singles, Alix Maloney blanked Rachael Ceciliani 6-0, 6-0.

The Patriots No. 1 doubles team of Callie Alford and Amanda Voyles defeated the Bulldogs team of Sammy Girardot and Mei Lin 6-0, 6-0.

At No. 2 doubles, the Patriots' Keeli Smith and Kaylee Humphries defeated Zuri Eshun and Kya Bird 6-0, 6-0 to wrap up the sweep.

"Heritage is a strong opponent and it was a great learning experience for us," Rockdale coach Ramona Houston said. "We believe that you can only improve by playing a stronger opponent and (Tuesday) night was a great opportunity to do so."

The Heritage girls team is 11-2 overall and 5-0 in the subregion and ranked No. 6 in Class AAAA.
