Meetings planned for block scheduling, arts academy

COVINGTON - Parents of Newton High School students are invited to one of two meetings in the coming weeks regarding changes at the school.

Social Circle ponders rate increase Residents' water, sewer bills may rise

SOCIAL CIRCLE - Residents may soon see an increase in their water and sewer bills as the city looks for ways to generate funds to pay debt service on capital improvements to the water and sewer systems.

Cornelia Solomon visited the Newton County Library on Thursday to see the artwork of her nephew, Joshua Tukes, 10, a student at Mansfield Elementary School. The artwork is displayed at the library as part of the Newton County Arts Association's annual True Colors Youth Art Exhibit, which runs through April 18. Solomon said her son, Alex Solomon, 13, is also an accomplished artist with works on display at the Southern Heartland Art Gallery. The library is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday.
