Henderson Letter 03/13/09

I want to take this opportunity to express my heart-felt thanks for your participation Saturday, Feb. 21, with our prayers for the economy on the Historic Courthouse steps. What a blessing to hear the sounds of praise coming from the great choir of New Vision Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Terry Shepherd. Your faces glowed with the anointing from on high and your voices touched the hearts and spirits of all present.

I also want to thank Pastor David Payne of The Church at Covington. He encouraged our hearts to continue to trust God, reminding us that God is our source! Thank you to my pastor, the Rev. James Russell, pastor of Rising Son Christian Church, for his prayers and support. Thanks to Commissioner (Nancy) Schulz and County Clerk Jackie Smith for coming out and adding their support and prayers as well. And last, but not least, the citizens who took their time to come by, encourage us and pray.

In closing, I am very encouraged knowing that God answers prayers. As we stand together and continue to work to make Newton County the great county that she is, I want to encourage you to continue in prayer asking our Heavenly Father to lead and guide us in these tough economic times.

J.C. Henderson

District 4 County Commissioner
