CONYERS - Police continue to look for a 20-year-old man who allegedly assaulted his girlfriend with a gun Friday.
Sometime around 5:30 p.m. Friday, Rockdale County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a home in the 2500 block of Plymouth Way, located off Ellington Road near Salem Road. According to the Sheriff's Office, the 22-year-old victim told officers that her boyfriend pointed a 9mm handgun at her and struck her in the face with the weapon. The victim told deputies at the scene that she believed the suspect was still inside the home. Deputies entered the house and found the master bedroom door was locked. "Believing the gunman had locked himself in the room and would not come out, additional units were called," the Sheriff's Office reported. One of the suspect's parents, who owns the home, arrived with a key. The suspect was not inside. Sgt. Jodi Shupe, spokeswoman with the RCSO, said investigators believe he went out the back door before deputies arrived. The victim was treated at the scene and the investigation continues.More like this story
