About 20 elementary school aged kids participated in an art camp at Southern Heartland Arts in Covington this week. Art camp volunteer Mikaela Smith, right, 15, helps Ethan Green, 6, cut out pieces of magazine pictures to add to his painting to create surreal art in the style of Salvador Dali, one of several projects campers were tasked with creating. During "All Aboard the Art Train," students studied famous artists and then created art in their style - portraits, sculptures, abstract landscapes, monoprints and other types of art. More students will come in for a second session in July, which is full. An advanced session for older students starts next week.More like this story
