Donald and Deborah Patten of Conyers and David and Sara Glover of Brighton, Tenn., announce the engagement of their daughter Jessica Lynn Glover of Richmond Hill, Ga., to Dallas Alton Howell of Richmond Hill, son of John and Maria Howell of Richmond Hill.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Lee and Mary Bell of Arlington, Tenn., Ronnie and Carol Barker of Paris, Tenn., Valda Gray of Memphis Tenn., Evelyn Brooks of Monroe and J.D. Patten of Covington. She is a 2001 graduate of Heritage High School and a 2005 graduate of the University of Georgia, where she earned a bachelor's degree in journalism. She plans to graduate summa cum laude in December from Armstrong Atlantic State University with a master's degree in early childhood education. She is currently employed with Armstrong Atlantic State University as an assistant coordinator for testing and orientation.

The future groom is the grandson of Hugh and Margy Arthur of Lizella, Ga., the late Wilmer and Hattie Howell of Macon and the late Marvin Newberry of Warner Robins. He is a 2004 graduate of Heritage High School and a 2006 graduate of Georgia Military College, where he earned an associate's degree in business administration. He is the owner of Howell Brothers Drywall Inc. in Richmond Hill.

The couple plans to wed Sept. 6 in Jekyll Island.
